Center for Students with Disabilities
The Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) at UConn is dedicated to ensuring a fully accessible and inclusive university experience for all students. Through individualized support and an interactive process, the CSD collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to determine and implement appropriate accommodations that promote equal access to academic programs, services, and campus life. Services include academic, residential, and campus access accommodations, as well as programs like Beyond Access and CSDTech, which offer personalized support and assistive technology resources. Students can manage their accommodations and appointments through MyAccess, the CSD’s comprehensive online platform.

Academic Center for Exploratory Students- The Major Experience
The Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES) is UConn’s academic advising program for students who want to explore the University’s opportunities before deciding on a field of study and for students who must complete specific requirements before applying to an application-based major.
In addition to academic advising, ACES is an active partner in The Major Experience (TME). This is a University-wide collaboration between ACES, the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills, and UConn’s academic schools/colleges dedicated exclusively to major and career exploration.
TME is designed to encourage the intentional exploration of majors in a holistic and interactive manner. Using a personalized approach, students are given the appropriate tools and support to choose a major(s) with confidence and, once declared, make the most of their time in that program.

Center for Access and Postsecondary Success
Center for Access and Postsecondary Success (CAPS) programs serve students at both the pre-collegiate and college levels. CAPS designs and implements these programs in accordance with guidelines set forth by its funding bodies, including the University, the U.S. Department of Education, and other programs which promote educational equity and opportunity for all.

Center for International Students and Scholars
The Center for International Students and Scholars (CISS) opened in July 2022 to create a welcoming space for international students and visiting scholars and bring together services for international students and visiting scholars at the Storrs campus.
The CISS includes:
- International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)- Provides advising and services related to immigration, government procedures, and university/community resources.
- Intercultural Programs and Support (IPS)– Programming and activities to help international students and visiting scholars connect with each other and the greater UConn community and develop intercultural skills to help them succeed.
- UCAELI, UConn’s English Language Institute- Offers intensive ESL courses to full-time and part-time English language learners and support for international Teaching Assistants.

First Generation Students
First generation students come from families where neither a parent nor guardian has a four-year degree or higher from a college or university. Many students whose parents have degrees outside of the United States also identify as First Gen.
UConn is dedicated to supporting and serving anyone who identifies as First Generation. First-Gen Huskies- including First Gen faculty and staff- are a fundamental part of our campus and a strong, proud part of the Husky pack.

Veterans and Military Programs
The Veteran Community at UConn is an open, welcoming, supportive community of people who have sacrificed in service to our great nation. The Veteran Community encompasses nearly 1,500 students, staff and faculty who are:
- Current Active Duty military and members of any of the uniformed services
- Current members of the Air or Army National Guard
- Current active or inactive Reservists of any of the armed services
- Those who have previously served in any capacity in the uniformed services
- Spouses, children, and any other dependents of any current or prior member of the uniformed services
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment for all Veterans and members of the military who attend UConn, and for each of them to know that they are an important and integral part of the University.
The Veterans OASIS is a lounge on campus dedicated to supporting our veteran and military-affiliated students. Designed as a welcoming retreat, it offers a comfortable space to relax between classes and connect with others who share similar backgrounds and experiences.
