The Choi Family Scholarship application is now live and will be accepting applications through March 14, 2025.
Dr. Mun Choi is a former Provost of the University of Connecticut (2012-2017) and the current President of the University of Missouri System. He and his family have generously created this scholarship fund to allow UConn students to have a quality, well-rounded experience while enrolled at the University.
Recipients may use their scholarship awards for professional development (e.g., professional conference attendance), education abroad, research opportunities, alternative breaks and other service-based trips, as well as for books and UConn fee bill expenses. Scholarships of up to $1000 will be awarded to students towards the end of the Spring Semester.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The student must:
- Be a current UConn undergraduate student;
- Have completed 54 credit hours at the time of scholarship disbursement;
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher; and
- Submit a full application, including 1 recommendation from UConn faculty/staff.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Please complete the scholarship application with the following attachments:
- Names and contact information of one UConn references
- A resume highlighting your experiences while at UConn (employment, internships, on-campus involvement, leadership experiences, volunteer experience)
- Personal essay (written or video formats accepted) answering the following question: How would you intend to use the scholarship, if awarded, and how does this contribute to your academic and professional goals?
