Over Spring Break, thirteen second-year students from ScHOLA2RS and Engineering Houses traveled to areas of Salvador, Morro De Sao Paulo, and Gamboa (Bahia region) of Brazil.
Students participated in lectures, discussions, research projects, cultural trips, and service-learning activities designed to provide them with an understanding of the challenges the Brazilian educational system faces along with the richness and dynamic nature of Brazil’s history, culture, politics, economy, and people. The trip was led by Dr. Erik Hines, educational psychology professor, and the group shared in this experience with students from The Ohio State University and Vanderbilt University.
